Update request for information submits the proof needed to resolve a pending RFI, transitioning its status away from pending. Only self-declaration and message signing proofs are submitted through this endpoint — see Proof types for their shapes.

For message signing, the proof’s type is the signing scheme used (e.g. bip-137, eip-191). A message signing proof for a crypto-address-verification RFI that fails validation returns 409 proof_invalid.

A satoshi-test RFI resolves on its own once Uphold detects and confirms the corresponding on-chain microtransfer — there’s no proof to submit for it.
